The Designer 

In 2020, Founder and CEO Melody Mendoza-Auslander started La Betri out of her home in St. Petersburg Florida. She is an accomplished educator, businesswoman, athlete and mother.

Growing up in the Philippines and dreaming of a better life, Melody immigrated to Los Angeles, California in 1999 to go after the Great American Dream. As a former school principal, Melody found a new sense of purpose and yearning to inspire others in a new way – this time through her passion for  designing functional clothing. Inspired by her love of fitness and active lifestyle, Melody launched The Joey Pouch Leggings in 2021.

Joey Pouch Leggings, a  cleverly engineered fanny pack meets apparel dynamo that encompasses a zipper compartment worn either incognito (tucked in) or flipped outward. High-end functional leggings that meets every woman’s lifestyle. La Betri means to make things better and that is Melody’s vision when she invented Joey.  “I want these leggings to be in every woman’s closet because they improve quality of life.”
